True Mind in 2009 02/22/10
The first word that crosses my mind when I try to describe the past year from True Mind`s point of view is “complicated”. A lot of things happened to the band, good things and bad things, but, in the end we ended up finding the good way and sticking with it.
2009 began with two concerts, one in Bucharest (30th of January) and one in Braşov (31st of January). After this wonderful beginning we continued to work on the old songs, because Dragoş was new in the band and he had to cathc up with us. On the 14th of March True Mind had the honour of opening for Trooper in Braşov and then plazing at Super Metal Live V in Bucharest with Magica and Tiarra. More concerts followed as we had the chance to see wonderful cities and perform there as well. Among them are: Reşiţa, Lugoj, Galaţi, Bacău, Cluj, Cernavodă (Rock River Festival), Predeal (East European Motor Show), Costineşti (Youth Rock Fest), Poiana Braşov (Rock Out Loud Festival).
Meanwhile, other concerts were booked but got canceled. One of them, our big dissapointment of the year, was Rock City Open Air. We were supposed to perform there but we got caught in the “dirty trap” with the tickets that we had to sell to book our place in the line-up. We want to apologize to all the people who bought tickets from us and we want to assure you that we had no idea what will come of Rock City Open Air. We are really really sorry. We didn`t know that such a “big and great” festival will turn out to be a disaster and a huge scam. We promise that you will have your money back as soon as we get it from the promoter, if that will ever happen.
“Rock Out Loud” Festival, on the 4th of September, was the last performance we had with Horia Buzuleciu (guitar) and George Căilean (drums). Horia, and a couple of weeks later George, decided to end their aritistic work with True Mind, for personal reasons.
True Mind was again two members short. But it didn`t take long before we got not only two, but three new members in the band: Marius Licu (guitar), Adrian “Dodo” Diaconescu (guitar) and Alexandru “Tero” Toth (drums). All went very nice and smoothly and the concerts were back on track. On the 13th and 14th of November we had our first performances with this line-up, in Sighişoara and Braşov. Afterwards we played with Highlight Kenosis in Bucharest on the 27th of November and on the 6th of December we rocked the place out all by ourselves in Reghin.

We had our Christmas break but we can`t stay away from music too long, so here we are again working our souls out for you. In March we plan to hit the studio to record some new songs with the new line-up and the new sound (2 guitars now). We hope that this year True Mind will be more stabile so that we can start working on a full length album and shoot our first professional video.

So… 2009 was a hard, yet wonderful year. We\'ve been through unexpected changes, but we ended-up with a great new line-up, that gives us a lot of confidence. We got to play a good number of shows, in good and in not-so-good venues, we had our share of people who helped us and respected us and people who didn\'t, we had our good times and our bad times, as always.
We want to thank everybody who has attended rock concerts in 2009, thus helping the rock movement in Romania, beside all the bands and honest promoters. THANK YOU! You have all our respect!
We also want to thank all those who have been there at our concerts, for paying a ticket to see us live, for screaming, singing and headbanging with us! THANK YOU all so much!!!
